Dr. Ali Hassan Al-Asiri, the General Manager of Colleges Institutes at the Royal Commission in Jubail, also gave a speech, where he lauded students, the RCJY and the government for their unwavering support in advancing educational initiatives.

"The RCJY is celebrating the graduation of this outstanding group of students," he said. "We stand proud of the standard of higher education in Jubail. There have been 9,000 students this year, with over 3,200 male and female graduates. There has been huge demand from the industrial field for employing our students," he said.

He further mentioned, "We have a 90 percent employment rate among alumni, who work in major companies such as SABIC, Saudi Aramco and other international and local companies."

"Three percent of our graduates enrolled in graduate programs, while another seven percent recently graduated. More than 800 training programs have been implemented for more than 21,450 trainees, of whom 12,000 were employees from SABIC, 1,300 from the metal industry and more than 1,000 from the Saudi Aramco."

There are new programs, disciplines and majors that have opened, as well as new curricula in academic quality and development in English, e-skills, and interior design, among others, said Al-Asiri.

There are many projects that indicate the commission's keenness in education, including developmental projects in information technology, energy, nanotechnology and environment services, he said. "We have expanded our academic buildings, which can currently accommodate an estimated 14,000 students."

The patronage of the Eastern Province Governor is a testament to the importance the government attributes to education, he said.

The ceremony coincides with the 9th Anniversary of the pledge of alliance.
