​His Excellency Dr. Eid Mohammed Al-Hajri, JIC Managing Director, led the inaugural activities of the Project Expo Day 2019 organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, with the aim of exhibiting the graduation projects of electrical and electronic engineering students during the Academic Year 2018-2019. Various members of the JIC community attended the event to witness the presentation of students' projects, created according to the requirements of the labor market and the kingdom's Vision 2030. These projects, signifying the raising of the education output at Jubail industrial College to a higher level, were designed under the supervision of EE department's faculty members.

The ceremony began with a presentation from Mr. Sameer AlKalthami, EE Department's Deputy, followed by a speech from Dr. Hassan Al-Garni, the Chairman of the department, where he expressed utmost appreciation to Dr. Al-Hajri and the JIC department heads for gracing and supporting the event. Afterwards, Engr. Emad Bukhari, one of the graduates of the department in 2006 and currently the Director of Projects and Engineering Services of Sahara Petrochemical Company, gave a speech and lauded the remarkable development of the EE department in general, and the faculty and students in particular. On the other hand, Dr. Al-Hajri briefed the participants of the activities of this event, which included exhibits of devices and products from different fields of electrical engineering. More than 400 students from primary, intermediate, and secondary schools in Jubail visited the exhibit and were captivated by the innovations. Several members of the media also came to cover the event through social media.

The graduation project is a requirement that students need to complete during their final years in the College. The project design shows the students' level of learning and his ability to engage in the labor market. For this occasion, the students of the department presented more than 20 different projects corresponding to the requirements of international and local companies, which also provides the best support for several commercial and industrial sectors. Some of the these projects include the automated robot which sorts materials such as aluminum, copper, carbon, or iron, and is generally used in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, and home appliances; automated robots programmed for elderly, which reminds patients with the intake of appropriate medicines; and the electronic parking building that alerts the car of the availability of parking spaces, thus, lifting the cars to a designated area when parking space is available. Certainly, these projects provide the students and visitors with learning opportunities through various competitive activities. Finally, Dr. Al-Hajri commended the creativity and excellence of the students and staff, and thanked the collective efforts of everyone who worked for the success of this activity.
