Center Facilities

The Center has the state of the art Laboratory facilities along with qualified & certified trainers.

The center currently has the following labs with well-equipped facilities at par with the international standards.

Penetrant Testing Lab

The lab facilitates the Visible & Fluorescent Penetrant inspection with Solvent, Water Washable and Post Emulsifiable penetrants. The lab is equipped with standard verification blocks and known defective test samples from well known manufacturers. The 44 test samples include Plate, Pipe, T-Joint, Y-Joint, Nozzles, Nods and Forgings.

Magnetic Particle Testing Lab

The lab facilitates the Visible & Fluorescent inspection with dry & wet particles. The students will use the Prods (2 units), Magnetizing Coils (2 units), Permanent Magnets (4 units), Portable Electromagnetic Yokes (10 units) and Black Lights (5 units) for the defect detection. The lab is equipped with standard verification blocks, Gauges, Meters, kits and known defective test samples from well known manufacturers. The 62 test samples include Forging, Plate, Pipe, Y-Joint, T-Joint, Nozzles and Nods.

 Visual Testing Lab

This lab is equipped with borescope (1 unit), Videoscope (4 units), Light meters (3 units), Weld Gauges (35 units), Mirrors, Lenses, Calipers and other measurement tools & kits used in the industries for the weld inspection.  The 82 test samples include Plate, Pipe, T-Joint and Y-Joint.

Ultrasonic Testing Lab

The lab is equipped with (18) Digital Flaw Detectors and (5) Digital Thickness Gauges. Plenty of V1, V2, AWS Resolution, Navship, DAC, Step Wedges, Basic Calibration Blocks & Reference Standards are a glance to the list of Standard blocks used in the lab. The 73 test samples include Plate, Pipe, T-Joint, Y-Joint, Nozzles, Nods and Forgings.

Radiographic Testing Lab

The lab is equipped with Yxlon Directional X-ray Machine System and a Dummy Gamma Projector System. Other than that, the lab has a fully functional developing station and (6) Film Viewers. The students will be intensively trained on the film interpretation. The 31 test samples include Plates, Pipes and T-Joints.

Eddy Current Testing Lab

The lab is equipped with two MS 5800 multi-technology system and 05 Nortec 500D Flaw Detectors for ET, RFT, MFL & IRIS. The students will be trained for evaluating percentage reduction in tube thickness, material sorting, coating thickness measurement & crack detection. The center owns (10) mock up heat exchangers from reputed manufacturers, in addition to (5) Certified Conductivity Reference Standards. The 68 test samples include Plates and Tubes.

Advanced UT Lab

The lab has facilities to perform both PAUT & ToFD Inspections. The center has five Omniscan MX Machines with sufficient PAUT & ToFD probes, Scanners, Encoders and other accessories. The students will be trained on software like ES Beam Tool & Tomoview. The Encoded Multi Group Inspection enables the students to practice real field inspection. The center owns 55 plate & pipe samples from reputed manufacturers, in addition to plenty of Reference & TCG Blocks.

AWS CWI Training

The attendees will be given 07 days of intensive training and individual hands-on practical. The center has 10 standard inspection kits that include Bend, Porosity, Fillet, Groove weld specimens & measuring instruments.  The trainees will be performing activities like quizzes, home works, practical - open book mockups & model exams which will enable them to meet the challenge during AWS-CWI Exams.
