Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

(Listening): Recognize phrases, vocabulary and the high-frequency words related to areas of most immediate personal relevance; and recognize the main points in short, clear, simple messages, announcements and speeches.

(Speaking): Interact in simple tasks and can use a series of phrases and sentences to describe in simple terms family, other people, living conditions, educational background and present or most recent job.

(Reading): Show understanding of very short and simple texts and personal letters and find specific, predictable information in simple everyday material such as advertisements, prospectuses, menus and timetables.

(Writing): Write short, basic descriptions of events and activities and write very simple personal letters expressing thanks and apology.

(Grammar): Show an acceptable degree of grammatical control and do not make major mistakes that lead to communication breakdowns.

(Vocabulary): Show an understanding of sufficient vocabulary to conduct routine, everyday transactions involving familiar situations and topics.

(Interpersonal Skills & Responsibility): Show the ability to act responsibly and ethically in carrying out individual as well as group projects.
