The Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MMET) Department is one of the largest departments of the College. Its primary role is to support JIC in achieving its strategic objectives that include supporting the National Saudisation Program and contributing to the affluence and prosperity of the region. In broad terms the MMET graduates can be described as being highly skilled and combine the required balance of subject knowledge and hands-on technical training. They are highly sought after by the industrial community in the Kingdom since they only require the minimum level of work-related training. Potential employers of our graduates include the manufacturing sector, power generation, desalination, refineries and construction, and air conditioning industries.
The Department maintains close links with the industries, values their experience and comments in developing its educational and training programs. It believes in playing its part in the manpower development of the Kingdom outside its normal cademic functions and actively engages itself in training employees from industries. It provides courses to the community at the vocational level requiring the minimum or no basic skills.
