The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology (EEET) provides Engineering Technology-based training in areas relating to the disciplines encompassed within this vast Engineering sector. The system of education adopted to deliver technician-based training is in line with the American Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The Department’s technical programs are designed to meet the requirements of ABET at both Associate degree and Bachelor of Science degree levels.
It is now widely accepted among developed nations that academia and industry must form closer links with each other for their growth and development in terms of technology transfer, manpower development, etc. The EEET Department is continuously developing such links with industry to provide services in line with industry’s ever growing needs. In recent years, the Department developed a solid track record in conducting a wide spectrum of quality short courses and special programs and played a leading role in training technicians and engineers from regional industry. In recent years, the Department was very active in the Saudi Aramco Training Partnership Project (SATPP) with JIC. The close link with industry also includes the establishment of two Departmental Industrial Advisory Committees accountable for matching educational degree plans, course objectives and contents, with the learning outcomes and skills required by industry.
The local community is an integral part of all developments taking place within the Kingdom. The EEET Department, in line with the College Charter, have offered regularly vocational courses to the local community in various areas such as House-hold Wiring, Basic Electronics, Fundamentals of Testing and Measurements, etc. The Department also participates in Prince Mohammad Bin Fahad program – a very popular program for qualifying and employing Saudi youth.
The wealth of specialist expertise available in the programs offered by the EEET Department is complemented by a caring educational environment supported by a modern purpose-built building and well equipped teaching facilities. Our modern laboratories are developed and upgraded continuously to provide hands-on training, essential for our students’ professional enhancement to achieve their highest potential.
